This project was designed with Laurence Wong, a master student at Emily Carr University for his masters thesis project. I worked as an assistant designer on the project in spring 2013.
The project aimed to develop a shoulder support for women that transcended and improved upon the current products all the while creating an empowering experience. Lisica Shoulderwear provides a lightweight, breathable, and stylish alternative to traditional shoulder supports by utilizing selective fabrics and textiles to ensure optimum comfort, fit and function.
The Lisica Shoulderwear support system helps place the shoulder joint in proper alignment during arm movements through the replication of key rotator cuff muscles. The rehabilitation of shoulder injuries is facilitated through an “active assist” system where recovering muscles remain active while being partially supported.
Lisica Shoulderwear has been designed for prolonged use for chronic or as a fashionable accessory to preventing injuries and avoiding re-injury.
